Hardscaping

Hardscaping should act as the anchor or foundation of your landscaping plan. Properly implemented, it will tie together your house with the outside landscape. One important consideration for hardscaping projects is how they will look during the winter months, without the presence of flowering plants and foliage to offset their often commanding nature.

Walls

The use of walls in a landscape can serve several purposes. Oftentimes retaining walls are used to make a severely sloped yard more usable or to help with drainage problems. Landscaping walls are also used to accent garden features by raising flower beds or other areas to make them more prominent. The most common material used to build a retaining wall is either stone or concrete block but timber can be a great alternative.

Patios

Installing a stone or paver patio in your yard is a great way to increase the usable outdoor area. It provides a place to entertain family and friends as well as an outdoor retreat that you can use to unwind from a hard day at work. Patio design can range from a simple paver patio to an extravagant stone patio complete with a built-in barbeque and fire pit.

Walkways

While walkways do serve a functional purpose they needn't be plain and boring. As with patios, there are almost unlimited options when it comes to design and selecting the type of material to use. On the material end of things you can choose from preformed pavers, brick, pressed concrete as well as numerous types of stones.
